I initially trained as an illustrator at Syracuse University through which I developed my interest in portrait painting. I went on to illustrate as a freelance artist for the Salesian Brothers and the National Wildlife Association. I maintained a successful teaching art studio for artists of all ages. In the years since I have completed a few commissioned portraits. I am now working at developing my skills in portraiture and plan to start taking commissions in 2021.

I believe in dynamic but natural and unassuming portraits. I was commissioned to paint Dr. Sorensen, which is displayed in the Cape Regional Hospital in Middle Township, NJ.

I have a strong feeling for the traditions of portraiture, and I take inspiration from the many American (Sargent, Decamp), European (Romney, Raeburn) and Russian (Kromskoy, Repin) Masters. Fine portraiture, I believe, “transcends contemporary elements and projects a timeless quality”.  I am a member of the American Society of Portrait. My distinctive style reflects a type of portraiture that is classical, dignified, finely executed, and always respectful of the traditions from which portrait art has risen.
